Fernando J. Martinez Jr., M.D.

American Board of Internal Medicine

Originally from Cuba, Dr. Fernando Martinez completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, graduating Suma Cum Laude in 1975. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Martinez attended the Tulane University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1979. He completed his four-year residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane before joining the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Radiology Department as a Fellow in Nuclear Medicine. He remained in Pennsylvania, working as an internist/director and co-director at the Philadelphia Naval Academy’s Department of Internal Medicine. He has held multiple medical director duties and brings over 35 years of primary care and emergency medicine experience to the Louisiana Primary Care Team. Dr. Martinez is highly skilled in all aspects of patient care including diagnosis of acute and chronic medical problems in children and adults. Dr. Martinez can also assist any patient seeking services in Spanish at Louisiana Primary Care.

Ashfaq A. Qureshi, M.D.

Diplomate, American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Ashfaq Qureshi is a board certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He is licensed in three states and has practiced for the past 18 years in Louisiana. Dr. Qureshi served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at LSU/Charity Hospital. He is fellowship trained in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Interventional Spine Injections from Louisiana State University Medical Center. He completed a second fellowship from University of Washington in Seattle in Electrodiagnostic medicine. Dr. Qureshi performed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialization at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and his internship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He graduated from the American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat, British West Indies in 1987. Over the years, Dr. Qureshi has lent his support to several medical associations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports & Occupational Medicine and the North American Spine Society. He has completed research in his field and is a published co-author in a past Medical Journal.

Thompson M. Dietz, M.D.

Diplomate, American Board of Radiology

Dr. Thompson Dietz received his B.S. degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. An Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Undergraduate Medical and Surgical Society member, Dr. Dietz completed an internal medicine internship before pursuing his diagnostic radiology residency at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Dietz completed a 2 month fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Dietz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and member of several professional organizations, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of Louisiana, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Orleans Parish Medical Society.

Bipasha Nath, M.B.B.S., M.D.

American Board of Internal Medicine Hospitalist

Dr. Bipasha Nath graduated with honors from Manipal University (Manipal, India) and Kasturba Medical College (Mangalore, India), earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 2006. She was a House Officer in India for two years before completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2013. Dr. Nath has worked as a hospitalist and as an internal medicine specialist in hospitals throughout the U.S.; She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an associate of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Nath is highly skilled in all aspects of patient care including diagnosis of acute and chronic medical problems in children and adults.

 

Pedro N. Romaguera, M.D.

Internist / Internal Medicine

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Pedro Romaguera graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1982 before pursuing a Doctor of Medicine from the San Banista School of Medicine in 1989. He performed his residency in internal medicine at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, Bronx Lebanon Hospital in the Bronx and Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Romaguera brings 29 years of primary care experience and is ready to assist all patients including those seeking services in Spanish at Louisiana Primary Care Consultants.

Don E. Carter, M.D.

General Physician

Dr. Don E. Carter earned his B.S. degree in Biology from Tulane University in 1968, and his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1975. He performed his post-graduate internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington. Dr. Carter is proud to have served in the U.S. Army as a Court Reporter in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, and as a General Medical Officer from 1975 to 1978. Dr. Carter has held various medical directorship positions; he was the Chief of Staff at United Medical Center, and the Chief of Family Practice at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. Dr. Carter is a member of Southern Medical Association, National Association of Residents and Interns, and National Medical Association. He is highly skilled in all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis of acute and chronic medical problems in both adults and children.

Miguel P. Rivera, M.D.

Internal Medicine/Endocrinologist

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Miguel Rivera graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1979 earning the Scholastic Award for Academic excellence before completing his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine in 1983, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Thereafter, Dr. Rivera completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at Louisiana State University, School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Dr. Rivera brings over 36 years of experience practicing medicine with a wide range of experience from the emergency room, to small group practice setting specializing in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, with subspecialties including Diabetes, thyroid conditions, osteoporosis, and female hormonal imbalance.  Dr. Rivera has a vast knowledge of and experience in acute and chronic medical conditions and is ready to assist all patients including those seeking services in Spanish at Louisiana Primary Care Consultants.

Barry L. Bordonaro, M.D.

General Physician

Dr. Barry Bordonaro graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Zoology in 1981, and completed his medical degree in 1985 at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He specialized in Internal Medicine. Initially he spent several years working in numerous emergency room centers across southern Louisiana before beginning his practice in general medicine which he has done for over 30 years and offers extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue injuries. Following his unique experience of over 36 years of medical practice makes Dr. Bordonaro a wonderful addition to the skilled physicians at Louisiana Primary Care Consultants.
